Dr. Melvin Haller, MDDr. Melvin Haller MD

Dr. Melvin Haller is the founder of Haller Eye Center. Since completing his ophthalmology internship and residency at Montefiore Medical Center/Albert Einstein College of Medicine in New York City, Dr. Haller has been caring for patients in New York City, Queens and the Bronx for over four decades.

Dr. Haller is a recognized leader in the ophthalmology community and is considered one of New York’s leading experts in oculoplastics, pediatric ophthalmology, cornea, glaucoma and cataract surgery. He completed his undergraduate work at Yeshiva University and earned his medical degree from the State University of New York Downstate School of Medicine in 1971.

Dr. Haller was the Director of Oculoplastics at Albert Einstein College of Medicine for 23 years. Dr. Haller was board certified by The American Board of Ophthalmology, and is a fellow of the American Academy of Ophthalmology. He also is trained in and performs oculoplastic, reconstructive, and cosmetic procedures. His other professional memberships include the New York State Ophthalmologic Society, American Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgery, Queens Ophthalmologic Society and the Association for Research in Vision & Ophthalmology.

Dr. Haller has received numerous awards throughout his distinguished career, including: Albert Einstein College of Medicine Ophthalmology Attending of the Year (1994), Castle Connely’s America’s Top Cosmetic Doctors & Dentists Award (2003-2016), Castle Connely’s America’s Top Ophthalmologists (2003-2019), the “Cornea Special Interest Research Project” Award at the American Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgery (ASCRS) 2008 Annual Conference, Patients’ Choice Award (2011-2019) and the Compassionate Doctor Award (2011-2019). Dr. Chad Haller, MDStyle:

Dr. Chad Haller graduated magna cum laude from the University of Pennsylvania and earned his medical degree from the Albert Einstein College of Medicine. He then completed his internship at Mount Sinai Medical Center in New York and his ophthalmology residency at the Albert Einstein College of Medicine/Montefiore Medical Center in the Bronx. Dr. Haller also served as Chief Resident position at Albert Einstein College of Medicine/Montefiore Medical Center Ophthalmology Department (2003-2004).

Dr. Haller is Board Certified by the American Board of Ophthalmology, and is also a fellow of the American Academy of Ophthalmology. Other professional associations include the New York State Ophthalmologic Society, American Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgery, Queens Ophthalmologic Society, Association for Research in Vision & Ophthalmology and the Cranio-Maxillofacial Surgical Institute.
