Dr. Melvin Haller, MDDr. Melvin Haller MD

Dr. Melvin Haller is the founder of Haller Eye Center. Since completing his ophthalmology internship and residency at Montefiore Medical Center/Albert Einstein College of Medicine in New York City, Dr. Haller has been caring for patients in New York City, Queens and the Bronx for over four decades.

Dr. Haller is a recognized leader in the ophthalmology community and is considered one of New York’s leading experts in oculoplastics, pediatric ophthalmology, cornea, glaucoma and cataract surgery. He completed his undergraduate work at Yeshiva University and earned his medical degree from the State University of New York Downstate School of Medicine in 1971.

Dr. Haller was the Director of Oculoplastics at Albert Einstein College of Medicine for 23 years. Dr. Haller was board certified by The American Board of Ophthalmology, and is a fellow of the American Academy of Ophthalmology. He also is trained in and performs oculoplastic, reconstructive, and cosmetic procedures. His other professional memberships include the New York State Ophthalmologic Society, American Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgery, Queens Ophthalmologic Society and the Association for Research in Vision & Ophthalmology.

Dr. Chad Haller, MDStyle:

Dr. Chad Haller graduated magna cum laude from the University of Pennsylvania and earned his medical degree from the Albert Einstein College of Medicine. He then completed his internship at Mount Sinai Medical Center in New York and his ophthalmology residency at the Albert Einstein College of Medicine/Montefiore Medical Center in the Bronx. Dr. Haller also served as Chief Resident position at Albert Einstein College of Medicine/Montefiore Medical Center Ophthalmology Department (2003-2004).

Dr. Haller is Board Certified by the American Board of Ophthalmology, and is also a fellow of the American Academy of Ophthalmology. Other professional associations include the New York State Ophthalmologic Society, American Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgery, Queens Ophthalmologic Society, Association for Research in Vision & Ophthalmology and the Cranio-Maxillofacial Surgical Institute.

Dr. Haller has earned numerous awards for his excellence in research and patient care including the “Cornea Special Interest Research Project” Award at the American Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgery (ASCRS) 2008 Annual Conference, Patients’ Choice Award (2011-2014) and the Compassionate Doctor Award (2011-2014). Dr. Tod Haller, MDDr. Tod Haller MD

Dr. Haller is a board certified ophthalmologist specializing in surgical, pediatric and general eye care for patients of all ages, including special-needs pediatrics. Dr. Haller attended the University of Missouri – Kansas City’s accelerated BA/MD program and received his medical degree from the Ross University Medical School, where he graduated with highest honors.

While in college, Dr. Haller was a member of the National Honor Society. Dr. Haller completed his internship and residency at Albert Einstein College of Medicine/Bronx-Lebanon Hospital Center in New York City and served as Ophthalmology Chief Resident at Bronx-Lebanon Hospital Center (2008-2009). While a Chief Resident, he was nominated as a finalist by the Medical State Society of NY for the Resident Leadership Award.

Dr. Haller has extensive clinical experience in primary vision care and comprehensive ophthalmology and performs laser and surgical procedures for patients with glaucoma, cataracts, retina and diabetic problems. Dr. Haller is also certified by VisX to perform LASIK and other laser vision correction procedures.

Dr. Haller is a member of the New York State Ophthalmologic Society, American Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgery, Queens Ophthalmologic Society, Association for Research in Vision & Ophthalmology, American Academy of Ophthalmology and The Medical Society of the State of New York.
Dr. Haller has been a frequent guest on local and national television and a guest ophthalmology consultant to the Discovery Channel. Dr. Haller has won numerous awards, including the “Cornea Special Interest Research Project” Award at the American Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgery (ASCRS) 2008 Annual Conference, Patients’ Choice Award (2010-2014) and the Compassionate Doctor Award (2011-2014).

Dr. Haller was awarded Top Ophthalmologist in New York State (2013), Top Ophthalmologist in the Bronx (2013) and Most Influential Doctor in the Bronx Region (2013) by HealthTap and is a winner of the Basic Science Research Award at the Medical State Society of the State of New York Annual Resident/Fellow Research Symposium in 2009.
